Even before I was engaged, I stumbled onto your website and just KNEW that I had to hire you as our photographer. All I can say is thank you for doing such a great job!!! I haven't even seen the wedding pictures yet, but if they're anything like our engagement photos I know they will be amazing. A few of my bridesmaids were really nervous to know they were going to be followed around by a camera all day, but after the wedding they told me they hardly even noticed! Actually, one of the most relaxing times I had all day was during the bridal party pictures - it just felt really natural taking pictures with all of my friends, and you never made it posey. Derek was great! All I have to say is book early or you'll miss getting a great photographer. Having done professional videography at one time, I was thrilled to come across someone with such a great eye. He was very clear and helpful with the process of picking him as our photographer. He made Dan and I feel very comfortable from the minute we met him. He was very friendly and fun to work with. I hate getting pictures taken of myself...I feel stupid and don't like cameras...but Derek made it work with me and even in the pictures where I was sorta feeling dumb, they turned out really good and fun!! He was very relaxed on the wedding day and got there when I asked him to be. I had sent him a list of different people I wanted in pictures and he made sure that every person I wanted a picture with was in a photograph. I loved his work and he is not only talented, but fun to work with as well. Dan and I are very grateful and are so happy to have the beautiful collection of pictures that we do of our wedding day!

We are absolutely amazed by the quality of photos that Derek took at our wedding. The location of our wedding was only lit by candles and dim amber-colored lighting. Because of this adverse lighting we sure that many of the pictures would appear extremely dark. Fortunately we hired Derek, an amazing photographer, and our wedding was ideally captured. Our Photographs are fantastic

The special images I asked Derek to take were exactly what I was looking for. I had written a little piece for my daughter based on my advice for a long and happy marriage, and I wanted to illustrate it with some gestural photos that represented deeper meanings. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a photographer who would understand my vision. During our interview I described my idea and I watched as Derek's face lit up with excitement. As we spoke I was sure that he understood my concept and that I had found the right photographer. The photos are perfect and the result is just beautiful. The pictures from our wedding are amazing, we get compliments from everyone who sees them. Even more unbelievable than a bride and groom in a drift boat, is Derek the photographer that will put on waders and run around in a river to get photos! He even got us to the wedding on time by helping Boe get the boat over a tree that had fallen across the river, taking photos the whole time of course. He put a lot of time into figuring out the lighting and shot locations before the wedding, so when it came to the big day everything went great.
